Advanced manufacturing and aerospace events visited in June
June was a very busy month for our inward investment team.
We started the month attending the Advanced Manufacturing Conference in Birmingham, where we had the chance to talk to new investors from the advanced engineering, manufacturing and supply chain management sectors. The conference, which was combined with the SubCon show, hosted more than 350 exhibitors over a wide range of industries, ranging from oil and gas to aerospace. It also featured six dedicated streams covering the latest thinking and the most exciting developments on different manufacturing sectors.
A couple of weeks later we flew to Paris to attend the International Paris Air Show, organised by the SIAE, a subsidiary the French Aerospace Industries Association (GIFAS). The Paris Air Show is the largest air show and aerospace-industry exhibition event in the world. And Invest in Gloucestershire was present, promoting Gloucestershire’s aerospace sector jointly with our partners from the South West England region. This 53rd edition of the event brought together the best aircraft flying demonstrations by more than 2,400 exhibitors coming from over 48 countries. The show attracted over 140,000 visitors, almost 3,500 accredited journalists, and 290 official delegates from 98 countries, so it represented a major opportunity to spread the message about our capabilities and investment opportunities in the aerospace sector.
