International Cyber start-ups pitch at the Cyber International Showcase

The Invest in Gloucestershire team were delighted to co-host the Cyber International Showcase on Wednesday 7th June at the Bottle of Sauce in Cheltenham.

This event was organised by CyNam and brought together eight international Cyber Tech start-ups, each seeking to establish their presence and contribute to the thriving cyber and technologies landscape in the UK, particularly Cheltenham. This was a hybrid event and featured a number of businesses dialling in from across the globe.

The well-attended event was kicked off by Tim Kay, the Director of Technology at the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), who spoke about the importance of Foreign Direct Investment in the Cyber and Emerging Tech spaces and the key to successfully establishing a presence here in the UK.

The Invest in Gloucestershire team worked with their international clients to secure a strong representation and follows the teams proactive work of attending speaking opportunities overseas. often in partnership with DBT and arranging tailored tours of the County for overseas business delegations and individual scale-up technology companies.
 
TR7 flew in from Turkey and the founder of Mantle Blockchain flew in from Canada. In addition, the EMEA Director for Canadian-based Solink, now living in Stroud, also presented.

The event also featured a number of virtual pitches, including a business in Portugal (B10SEC) and two more from Canada (F8th Inc and Cycur ID), who were able to present their companies to the audience and highlight their growth aspirations into the UK and European markets. 

This was a great platform to showcase exciting growing technology companies who wish to establish new facilities in Gloucestershire and enrich our community. Invest in Gloucestershire would like to thank the CyNam team for a great event and look forward to collaborating again in the near future.
