Gloucestershire is present at the world’s leading agricultural trade fair
Last week, a delegation of our inward investment team travelled to Hanover, Germany, to attend Agritechnica 2019, the world’s first trade fair for agricultural engineering.
With over 2,800 exhibitors and 450,000 visitors, Agritechnica is the greatest European forum for innovation in the agricultural sector. As such, it provided us with a fantastic opportunity to promote Gloucestershire’s impressive Agri-Tech proposition during the week-long event.
Over 130,000 of Agritechnica’s visitors assisted from outside Germany, a fact that delivered incredible networking opportunities to attract inward investment.
This year, Agritechnica’s focus was set on the current challenges for agriculture, such as increasing productivity while also protecting the environment and resources worldwide. New methods, driven by digitisation, automation and robotics, were the greatest trend setters.
On Thursday 14th, Invest in Gloucestershire - in partnership with the Department for International Trade (DiT) - hosted a reception at the UK Pavilion, representing the first time for the DiT to partner with a single LEP to promote the Agri-Tech sector.
The reception received wide acclaim and was extraordinary well attended by a rich set of potential investors and international businesses.
