Invest in Gloucestershire join the Department for Business and Trade at London Tech Week
The Invest in Gloucestershire team were invited to join the Trade and Investment team at the Department of Business and Trade at their One-Stop-Shop of UK Technology Investment Opportunities event as part of London Tech Week.
London recently hosted the global celebration of tech uniting innovative thinkers and talent in a week-long festival. The high profile event was opened by the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak and focused on how tech is transforming business and society, London Tech Week drives thought provoking conversations around innovation, diversity and transformation, providing a platform for the tech ecosystem to come together to drive change.
The Invest in Gloucestershire team attended as part of the High Potential Opportunity stand at One Great George Street where they were able to talk to overseas delegations about the opportunities for establishing a tech business in Gloucestershire.
This event was aimed at international companies interested in expanding to the UK. Companies were able to meet with exhibitors from the UK's nations and regions and learn more about specific investment opportunities in areas such as Immersive Tech, Cyber Security and Compound Semiconductors. Delegates were also able to engage with AR/VR demonstrations, receive insights on how to access specialist equipment and also receive advice on visas and funding.
International delegations included visitors from APAC, Latin America, Israel and Eastern and Central Europe. The Inward Investment team at GFirst LEP were honoured to be part of such a great event and thank the team at the Department for Business and Trade for the invitation. The team were able to meet a number of delegates and investment agencies and extend an invitation to come visit Gloucestershire and experience the fantastic cyber-tech ecosystem it has to offer.
